Purpose and Goals
ClevelandHealth.info is a partnership to help community members locate and contribute health information for Cleveland, Cuyahoga County and surrounding areas.
Our purpose is to create a living journal of local health knowledge, incorporating the viewpoints of citizens, students, providers and researchers alongside data, news and infromation sources for each type of user. We believe this comprehensive and updatable community resource will increase the ability of visitors to effect positive changes for themselves and the whole community.

Locating Information
Community health information is any data that is used in our community to plan, carry out and assess efforts to improve health. On ClevelandHealth.info, visitors can list information resources by topic, geographic place, intended users or by text search.
As our editors and members build our growing knowledge base, our goal is to maintain a full complement of references in several main categories:
- General information on diseases, treatments, prevention and environmental conditions
- Local data on the prevalence and impact of health conditions
- Organizations that produce and use health data
- Local and other service providers
- Current events, news and policy developments
We also link to resources to help users assess the quality and utility of the data they find. Each of these categories can be navigated using the green menu on the left side of this site. Additional help can be found in How to Find Information.
Contributing Information
Perhaps most importantly, all of these resources are ensconced in a publishing system that can channel community input in a variety of ways. For example, citizens can join the site and publish comments, links or articles of their own.
We provide this ability through a Web publishing environment that is accessible through our site. Our tools for creating and reviewing content also can be customized to help organizations or educators manage group content projects.
