Leading Causes of Death: Mortality Rates for Cleveland, 2000-2003

Average annual age adjusted mortality rates per 100,000 population for 2000-2003 are presented for white non-Hispanic and black non-Hispanic Clevelanders.

Average annual age adjusted mortality rates per 100,000 population for 2000-2003 are presented in these tables. Data for Cleveland White non-Hispanic and Black non-Hispanic residents are reported.
There are not enough data for Hispanic Clevelanders to calculate reliable mortality statistics.

The original data is derived from from death certificate records compiled at Ohio Department of Health in Columbus. The data was analyzed by Cleveland Department of Public Health in cooperation with the Cuyahoga County Board of Health.

Rates highlighted in RED are significantly different (p<0.05) across racial/ethnic groups. This means that the rate in RED is statistically greater compared to the rate for the other racial/ethnic group.
